Pearl Harbor

You will be reading the presidential addresses to the American public after the Pearl Harbor and 9/11 attacks.

To Do:
  - As you read each speech (in notability), make notes off to the side about each paragraph’s tone and intent.  (What was the president saying, and what tone was he taking?)

Compare and Contrast (on your own sheet of paper to turn in)
1. How were the two speeches similar?
2. In what ways were they different?
3. What feelings were they trying to recognize (or evoke) from the American public?
4. What similarities can you draw between America’s response to the events of Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 attacks? (based on what you know).
